I did the course as a public in Las Vegas in the early 90's. Larry Perna was the sup. He was high theta guy with an excellent grasp of what was and what was not needed. I also had a great twin who was very theta. The course only took about three months at 10-20 hours per week. For me it was a total life changer. I went from a very glib student to a very not-glib student. I did my Academy Training after the KTL and never needed word clearing through the entire line up from Level 0-4 or NED. And I can apply what I learned. The KTL followed by a retread on the Student Hat was the key to getting me to be cause over study.
I personally believe that the four months I spent on KTL and then the Student Hat saved me literally years of time because I no longer struggle in any way to "get it."

I absolutely adored this course. I am very literate in any case, (have various degrees), but despite that, this course really improved my ability to understand *conceptually*. There was alas, the usual corporate Scientology incompetence, with the incorrect assignment of my first twin (too slow for me), which was very irritating, and caused unnecessary delays. To their credit, however, we did eventually find a twin that was as fast as me, and once that occurred, the course was an absolute pleasure to do. The course was brilliantly structured, with text, images, practicals, clay, etc., and most importantly, was a lot of fun.

If you have the time to commit to yourself, this course can really free up a lot of your communication in ways that you may not see coming. I did this in the Corporate Scientology organization of Flag, which made it easy for me to find twins as I needed them. Unfortunately, I have never found this offered outside of Flag and other advanced Orgs in Corporate Scientology, and since I would not recommend Flag to anyone anymore, my recommendation for this course is a bit theoretical.

This is a tricky course to review. I did it while on staff at the International Training Organization around 1992. It took me over a year at 5 hours a day, and I personally have always been able to Method 9 things very easily indeed. Before I started it I thought I was pretty literate. But near the end I suddenly realized that my ability to take information off a page had increased tremendously, and things I didn't get instantly leapt off the page at me instead of the whole area going foggy for some reason. But was that worth the hundreds of hours it took? Hard to say.

I took the Key to Life Course in the 1990's and what a training cycle that was. Imagine learning the alphabet backwards and studying grammar for understanding and use; word definitions galore and sentence composition; punctuation.
The course took me quite a long time on a part time basis but it was laid out in such a way that it built to a fine crescendo. At the end I felt I could compose a literate piece that communicated a concept. In fact, I felt I could write should I so desire to do so as I now had the use of the language.
Yet, that wasn't the end phenomenon of the course. I will not describe that aspect as it is one which should be experienced by the student as he/she completes the course. Rest assured, however, it was well beyond my expectations.
