I like the people. I just wish that they could open there eyes and ears and realize that they can be more effective in helping themselves, their friends and family with the Scientology philosophy without the involvement with the CoS management breathing over their shoulders. And most of all realize that there's a clever mechanism held in place that will encourage one to stay it the church involvement. After becoming an independent I feel more calm and confident about my beliefs. I have a better understanding because I now have knowledge of the whole truth. I opened my eyes and got the good and the bad about D & S and the real history of LRH which is now the whole raw truth. I was lied to by the church and the true history was covered up. What the international management is doing needs to be stopped. people need to have their freedom and rights to practice and help without the intervention of fund raising and pricing the services out of reach.

Great location. Friendly staff.

Pros and Cons (optional)

Pros
It has a great location write next to the Austin UT campus. Lots of walk-by traffic most of the day. I like the staff there. They're very Texas friendly and they had helped me with personal issues when I needed to get settled in town. With the very little money that I had I tried to keep myself active with Scientology so I stuck with what I could afford. They are nice people. The ideal org plans look nice. I've had a great spiritual awakening and uplift from the auditing years ago (free introductory counselling at Flag in the 90's) and the benefits from the courses that I've taken over the years.
Cons
The org is quiet most of the time. Sometimes there's a receptionist. Sometimes there's not. Sometimes the phone will get answered. Sometimes not. If you walk in you might have to look around and find someone to help you. The building is holding together but they're on the list to get it Ideal. Just need enough funds I guess. It seems busy with both public and staff when there are fund raising events on the weekends but not during the weekdays for course and service times. I see the same faces but no new faces. Where are the new people? It seems that the staff are busy with their personal lives more than they can take care of their org. I started doubting my involvement after seeing that there are more fund raising events and services priced out of reach (for my low annual income). There are Sea Org members there to see it through that their public are coming to the ideal org fund raiser events. The fund raisers are dedicated and enthusiastic about trying to get it Ideal Org. They're putting everything they got into it. Personally I feel saddened that they're doing this. All these great people, professionals and business owners who can easily run their own Scientology practices as independent Texas friendly Scientologists with the fraction of the costs that they put forth to get that building Ideal. It hurts. I ask myself, "What has happened to the international management?". Something has changed over the years.

Bottom line...

Want auditing?

self-analysis

START HERE

Self  Analysis (August 1951):  Possibly the best introduction to the subjects of Dianetics and Scientology. Self Analysis contains both a series of essays on the basic discoveries Ron had made up to this point in his research as well as an extensive auditing section that a person can do by themselves right at home. The book contains a special version of the Hubbard Chart of Human Evaluation and a series of tests one can do to discover where you're really at. Then, by applying the processes from the second half of the book, one is guided through a path of self-discovery. At the end, you will re-do the tests to confirm your improvement. How good can you get? These techniques have been in use for more than six decades and Ron referred to them again and again throughout his research, stating that the processes here were capable of curing any neurosis.

This is the starting point for anyone wanting auditing. You will be audited by L. Ron Hubbard himself through the pages of this book.

Find a copy in used bookstores or at Alibris.com, Amazon.com, eBay. Or you can buy a new copy from these Church of Scientology organizations (but once you give them your address they may continue to send you junk mail) Bridge Publications or New Era Publications.
